Principals Report:
Ø Classroom Allocation:
Teacher allocation will remain the same.
Classroom numbers are JI/SI:24, 1st
– 3rd class: 25, 4th – 6th class: 28 = 77
Ø Parents Association Update
- School Uniforms: BOM agreed to maintain
current uniform guidelines with addition of suggesting black shoes / runners
for children. Jumper fitting will take place on Thursday, June 7th for
incoming families and Wed 13th from 2 – 3:15 for all other families.
- 5K: PA raised approx. €4,000 which has been
donated to school for school painting.

School Self Evaluation – General survey (Garda
Vetting, Adult Education Classes, accompany on school tours, help with in class

Decision
made: BOM agreed to amalgamate previous
survey and literacy survey with addition of topical questions such as school
paint colours, garda vetting & the addition of responses per child in
family.

In the process of completion. Will be present at BOM 5 in

Grants Received for
2017 / 2018 (comparison with former year):
BOM compared amounts from last year and this year. All grants
are down and administered later in year compared to 2017. BOM agreed to be
mindful of day to day expenditure next year as there will be no Minor Works
grant in 2018.

Parents Association –
transfer of funds April 30th
Funds have been transferred with thanks from the BOM.

School Book
Expenditure
Treasurer identified the rising costs of books. BOM agreed to
increase book list money from €40 to €50 per child and €130 family cap.

Safety Officers Report:
v School Painting – Quotes & Colour Options
BOM discussed various quotes and decided to go
with lowest cost option. Colour options will be included in school survey and
decided thereafter.

Applications to be submitted via email by Fri
April 20th.
Planning and Policy Development & Revision:
Leafletting Policy
Principal discussed the large volume of
leaflets being handed to school from private business and community groups.
There has also been a rise in leaflets for votes in facebook competitions etc.
BOM agreed that to aid our Green Flag upkeep no leaflets will be handed out to
children moving forward. One leaflet will be displayed on the school
noticeboard at the front entrance.
