Previous Meeting were read and agreed
Principals Report:

NCSE
– Heather Johnston Follow Up visit Feb 12th
Principal outlined that staff
requested a follow up visit as staff were keen to ensure their student and
classroom support files were appropriate with suitable learning target for
pupils. Heather read through a selection of plans, provided advice and some
useful paperwork.

PDST
– Aimee Keaveney SPHE / Stay Safe professional development April 10th
Staff requested that they
receive PDST support in the area mentioned afore due to changes in recent child
protection legislation and new social and personal curriculum introduced

NEPS
– Breege McGonigle visit re: critical incident, assessment & pupil case by
case advice
Principal informed BOM of recent
requested visit from NEPS to clarify assessment criteria, review a selection of
pupil files and provide advice for critical incident policy. Principal found
this meeting very beneficial.

Inspection – January 17th Margaret Farren, Findings and
Recommendations
Principal discussed incidental
inspection with BOM

Enrolment, ‘informal meeting with the principal’ Feb 13th,
14th, 15th 9:30 – 10:30am
Principal discussed a new
initiative to allow parents who are considering sending their child to our
school a chance to walk through the school building and speak to principal
informally about any queries they may have. BOM agreed this was a productive
idea towards promoting the school.

Parents Association: Upcoming Fundraisers – 5K, Come Dine With Me, Fit Club
Principal outlined upcoming
fundraisers. This will enable the playground markings to take place and buy
additional furniture for the school.

Inishowen
Primary School League – presentation Jan 21st (Inishowen
Independent)
Princiapl informed BOM that Robert
McLaughlin made the presentation of the trophy in the school hall to the team
and all the pupils. BOM praised manager Damian Ward for all his hard work
training the team.

Upcoming events: February Midterm
Friday 15th @3pm, CCS pupils transfer day & change of arrangements,
Seagate Engineer visit March 14th, Confirmation Mass April 4th
@5pm

Treasurer's Report:
v School Accounts Summary
Application to increase ancillary grant
was signed and ratified.
Treasurer informed BOM that Brightpay was
now up and running and working well in the office
P/O Account - €1300, Current Account - €15,296.60, Lunch
Account €15,719.58
v Peace IV Transport Budget
Additional funds were needed for
transport costs and an application has been sent to Leargas.
Safety Officers Report:

Minor building work to senior classroom
Safety Officer informed
BOM that on January 7th (first day back after Christmas holidays)
there was condensation in the Senior classroom. Principal organised a builder
to inspect school to discover cause. Builder suggested small holes had not been
filled properly where insulation was pumped before. Builder suggested a
temporary fix of sealing holes to see if it improves condensation. If this
solves the problem a permanent seal will be added. BOM agreed to this and
safety officer will monitor classroom situation.
Policy & Planning
Development & Revision:
ü Critical Incident Policy: Principal created policy,
reviewed with NEPS psychologist and made necessary adjustments. Principal
emailed policy to all persons mentioned in different action stages and BOM
members before meeting inviting feedback. Principal informed people of their
roles e.g. discussed policy with chairperson of parents association. All
persons agreed to their roles. The policy was discussed and ratified by the
BOM.
Correspondence:
- Applications for Irish Exemption: 3 applications for
irish exemptions were made. Principal reviewed exemption applications with
NEPS psychologist. Principal informed BOM that each application met the
required criteria according to school and department policy. Each application
was ratified. A certificate of exemption will be given to each family and
retained in the school property.
